The handle broke on my 2-quart and I threw it [the handle] out. I did not have the heart to throw enclosed pan out, as it is my favorite cooking pot. My Mom recommended these to us, as she's had her set of these pans for 30 years. We only bought so far, and it seems great. The longevity and craftsmanship of the pan is definitely the appeal. We have not noticed any huge difference in cooking time, if anything it seems to take longer. Yet, because the quality of the pan is so obviously better made than anything else we own, we look forward to being able to keep this in our family for decades to come, rather than the cheaply made stuff we've been using that last about 2 years!
