Is This Career For You?

Below are some commonly asked questions that should help you decide if you feel qualified to perform as an AMI Distributor.

Q: What exactly is the Kitchen Seminar?
A: A thirty- to forty-minute, information-packed presentation of health related facts with extreme emphasis on proper food preparation. The presentation is a spin-off from an in-home demonstration that was developed and performed by the nationally acclaimed motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar, who began his career demonstrating the same equipment manufactured by West Bend Cookware. The popularity of our seminars is growing daily as American consumers continue to return to their health-conscious home and demand top quality equipment to prepare their foods.

Q: Do you need experience?
A: No. We have a proven, successful program that allows you to form your own personality around our presentation. We are looking for honest and sincere people who want to live a successful and fulfilling lifestyle.

Q: Can men and women work as teams?
A: Yes, We highly encourage it. A husband and wife or any team performs well as one demonstrates and the other prepares for the next show.

Q: Is there any investment?
A: Most new businesses require major investments. As an AMI Distributor, the company furnishes the entire display and most of the equipment necessary for you to get started. You are required to purchase a few incidentals while starting, and will incur some travel expense while in training. Applicants should have the ability to gauge their success and monetarily prepare for time spent in training. Your greatest investment will be your time while you learn a new profession. Most professions require college degrees that pay nothing and cost thousands to acquire in four to eight years of college. We pay you while you learn, and have you in business earning an income comparable to a Doctor or Lawyer.

Q: Are there any benefits?
A: Yes! We have incentive programs designed to enable Associates to obtain benefits that match their own personal needs such as health and life insurance, dental coverage and retirement programs.

Q: How much will I travel?
A: It's up to you. We have thousands of shows throughout the U.S. and Canada. We assign the shows geographically, so you may work locally or travel and see the country.

Q: Who pays the travel expenses?
A: We share the cost of travel expenses for our Level B income recipients through our production bonus program. Level A income recipients are provided with a fixed expense allotment of $100/worked day. Many of our distributors who enjoy travel use vans or motor homes and take regular vacations in between shows. Those who do not choose to travel as often, stay in motels or commute from their homes.

Q: Do I receive advanced training and assistance?
A: Yes! "When you're green you grow; when you're ripe, you rot." Your training and support is continuous with national seminars and conventions, as well as weekly contact with your management team.

Q: What are the downfalls of this career?
A: The same as any other career. If you work hard and have a good attitude, you will succeed. If you have a bad attitude and poor work habits, you will most likely not be accepted.

Q: What, besides demonstrations and order taking do I have to do?
A: That's about it. Our very qualified staff schedules all of our seminars and shows, processes all orders, arranges all public relations and advertising, ships all orders, handles all accounting and warranty work, and sees that you receive a check every week.
